Our Story

Agtek started back in 2003, not in some fancy office, but from the downstairs of our family home. I just wanted to do things properly — bring good, reliable machinery into New Zealand and make sure we actually stood behind it once it was sold.



Our Story

In those early days, it was all hands-on. I remember licking many stamps and envelopes late into the night to send flyers out to orchardists, squeezing tractors into a shed in Pyes Pa, and working long hours just to get the Goldoni name out there. Even today, I can still pretty much name or remember my very first Goldoni customers — the people who gave me a chance back then and trusted us from the start. It wasn’t glamorous — it was hard work, and every sale came from earning someone’s trust one step at a time.

Fast forward 23 years, and Goldoni has grown into the go-to tractor for orchardists across the country — reliable, comfortable, and trusted. From those early sheds to a proper facility now holding millions of dollars in parts, the business has grown, but the approach hasn’t. We still do things the way we always have: hands-on, honest, and personal.

Even before Agtek officially started, I had introduced Landini tractors to New Zealand, slowly building recognition and trust. That work eventually led to us securing the New Zealand distribution for Landini and McCormick tractors in 2011, which was a real milestone for us and something I’m proud of.

Over the years, we’ve added more brands to the mix — Orizzonti mulchers, TYM tractors, Basak tractors, and a wide range of tractor implements. Every brand we bring in is chosen because it fits the practical, reliable standards we know our customers need, not just to chase sales.

What began as a one–two person operation has grown into a team of people across multiple offices here at our Te Puke premises. But nothing’s changed about how we do things. We still roll up our sleeves, take the time to get things right, and make sure the people we work with — our dealers and customers — are properly looked after.

We want to be known as the company that does things properly: supplying only equipment that's been tested and proven in New Zealand conditions, backing it with honest support, and building long-lasting relationships along the way.

In a market that's becoming increasingly corporate and dominated by overseas ownership, we're proud to remain independent and as Kiwi as we can get - one of the last of our kind. Being locally owned means we can make decisions here, take responsibility personally, and know the people we work with. With an open-door approach, we're always accessible, approachable, and ready to help. For us, it's about more than business - it's about good Kiwi trust, respect, and looking after the people who put their faith in us.

That's what drives Agtek every day. From the tractors we sell to the parts we supply, and the support we give our dealers, everything we do is built around real people, real relationships, and doing the right thing. It's the same approach we started with back in 2003 - rolling up our sleeves, putting in the hard yards, and making sure our customers are properly looked after.
